Partner Agency feveran wins CSR Communication Award for PR in Turkey: “Wilo – Know the Value of Water”
Wilo is one of the world’s leading suppliers of pumps and pump systems for buildings, water management and the industrial sector. Wilo solutions help provide clean water to millions of people around the world.
Wilo has a strong presence in Turkey, its PR agency there is Istanbul based feveran – partner agency of JP KOM in the IPRN network. At this year’s IPRN Members Conference in Cartagena (Columbia) feveran’s project for Wilo “Know the Value of Water” won the IPRN Award in the CSR category.
As Wilo directs millions of liters of water, they are aware that not a drop should be wasted. Knowing about the importance of water, Wilo strives to conserve it and make efficient use of this scarce resource. To raise awareness of the responsible use of water in Turkey, Wilo started the project “Know the Value of Water”.
- The campaign started on March 22, on World Water Day. To attract the attention of a wider audience, Wilo became the “Water Saving Partner” of Turkey’s famous basketball team Anadolu Efes. The players started their match wearing jerseys specially designed for the “World Water Day”. Before the match, a video drew attention to the decreasing water resources. Nearly 200 broadcasts reached more than four million people. A contest run together with Anadolu Efes on social media reached 21,000 people.
- In collaboration with the TEMA Foundation and the Ministry of National Education, a project at schools was launched. This program, called “Water Brotherhood”, will run for three years. It aims to reach 60,000 children in 30 provinces and turn them into “Water Protectors”. TEMA Foundation is the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion – a non-governmental organization for reforestation and protection of natural habitats in Turkey. It was founded in 1992 and is Turkey’s leading NGO, with over 451,000 volunteer members.
- As a basis for these activities, the website sutema.org was relaunched. It is a source for everyone: It provides a lot of scientific data on water, mostly with pictures, infographics, teaching materials, and short videos.
- As part of the collaboration with the TEMA Foundation, people were invited to become “Water Volunteers”. 5,000 volunteers took part in an assessment of their water consumption habits and shared their experience on social media.
The campaign reached more than five million people; it was covered in 270 publications. More than 80,000 visitors were personally involved with the TEMA Foundation.
